Okay, so 4 1/2 years ago, I was in an AMAZING production of "Titanic: The Musical". We used a LOT of luggage in the 1st scene (obviously...everyone was boarding the ship.) Well, I brought in a few pieces of luggage to be used. Some were mine, but there were some that I borrowed from my grandma. Well, when the show closed, one piece of luggage got mixed in with the stuff going back to OpenStage's warehouse. I had 2 or 3 people that knew that it happened, and they were going to get it back for me. They never followed through, and I thought I'd never see the suitcase again.
Fast forward to today. I went with Shauna to pick up some flats, platforms, and stairs she needs for the "Oliver!" set. I didn't realize until we got there where we were. The Openstage warehouse! I could see their prop storage in the back. (Which, by the way, is like an awesome flea market! They had tons of totally sweet stuff!) Anyway, I head up the stairs, eying the suitcases. Suddenly, I see it. It's small, it's brown, and it has a ripped White Star Line sticker on it. I open it. Inside, is a funny flyer I made as well as the White Star Line Tourist Info brouchure I made to carry onstage when I entered as a 2nd Class Passenger. IT WAS MY SUITCASE!!!! I was sure I'd never see it again!!! I was so excited!!!! Made my whole day!
Now I have a happy ending for my story about why you shouldn't bring props in for a show unless you won't be heartbroken if they get lost or broken. Woo hoo!!!!!!
Now if the Rockies can have as good of a day as I have had. C'mon boys!

Baking Tip
Original Post Date: October 27, 2007
Angela's Baking Tip of the Day:
When making cupcakes, just because the package on the aluminum cups say that you don't need to put them in a muffin tin, it's a really good idea to do that anyway. But if you don't have a muffin tin handy, be sure that the baking sheet you use is completely, totally flat. Not slightly warped so that the edges are higher than the middle. All the cupcakes will migrate to the center and then become one. After they are baked, and you pull them apart, they will look very odd shaped...as opposed to their muffin tin brothers who are perfectly round.
So now I have 18 perfectly shaped cupcakes and 12 odd balls. *sigh*

What kind of restaurant is this?

So, my dinner was interesting tonight. The fish was under cooked, and I had to send it back. And I found glass in my salad. I had a right mind not to leave a tip at all. What kind of a restaurant is this, anyway? I know I'm getting you all worked up now. "Oh, my! What pain Angela had to suffer! That restaurant must be horrible!" Go ahead...feel sorry for me. I'll wait....
Guess what! It wasn't a restaurant. It was my house.
Yep. Glass in my salad at my very own house. We don't know how it got there. But I threatened to sue the establishment if I broke a tooth. Oh, and if it WAS a restaurant, I never would have ordered fish. Blech. I don't care for seafood, thanks. I take after my grandpa in that department.
Anyway, I just thought it was an interesting dinner. We had to put all of the fish back in the oven. It was a new recipe my mom was trying out and the fish didn't get cooked enough. It was good, except for the fish. I told her to make it again, just with chicken instead. Mmmm...chicken.

I finally left the state!

So, I really needed to get out of Colorado. The last time I left the state was July 2006 when we went to Idaho for our family reunion. Since then, the farthest I've been away from home is Larkspur. An hour and a half from home. Woo. So this weekend, Shauna and I took a little road trip. And by little, I mean we drove over 1800 miles in just over 2 days.
Our trip of randomness came about because Lori Depew needed a ride home from Kansas City. She had a one way ticket there and no way home. So, we set out Friday at noon and headed east. We spent the night in Lawrence, KS and then spent Saturday in Springfield and Branson, MO. (Shauna went to school for a year in Springfield.) We went to the Titanic Museum (which is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!) and ate at Lamberts (the best restaurant EVER!). We visited a few people that Shauna knew from when she was in school, and then we headed back up to Lawrence. We stayed overnight in Lansing, KS at Lori's friend's house, and then left for home at 6:00 am this morning. We got back home a little after 3:30 pm today. That was a LOT of time in the car, but totally worth the trip. It was great to get away and we had a lot of fun!! I'll be ready for another road trip, but not for awhile.

Gotta love 2 year olds. Last Saturday, I had Emily with me and I was getting her into my car. She says to me "Your car is a mess." Okay, so there's a few candy wrappers and a water bottle. It's not too bad. But to have a 2 year old, who LOVES to throw all her toys all over the place and literally tear her room to shreds, tell me that MY car is a mess. Sheesh!!!!

Parking Lot Ding Dongs
Original Post Date: October 9, 2007
Okay, so I am a bad, baaaaaaaaaaaaad girl.
We were leaving the hospital this evening, after meeting the adorable Brayden. Something on the ground caught my eye. It was an unopened Ding Dong. I picked it up. I inspected it. It wasn't smashed, and it wasn't opened at all. I played around with it for a bit, but then I opened. And then I ate it. Yes, I ate something I picked up in the parking lot. IT WASN'T OPENED, OKAY? IT WAS CLEAN!!! I figured, what the heck. If I die, at least my last meal was a Ding Dong. I made sure that Emily didn't see me eat it, though. That's the LAST thing you should do in front of a 2 1/2 year old, eat something off the ground.
An hour and a half later, and I'm still alive. I think we're good. But yes, I am a bad girl.
